Enriched Air, also known as “nitrox”, is a form of breathing gas that allows divers to extend the bottom time and reduce nitrogen loading. It is PADI's most popular specialty course. PADI Enriched Air Diver Online can be completed in as little as an afternoon. After completing your online learning you'll apply the knowledge you've learned by practising procedures for obtaining and analyzing enriched air with your PADI Instructor.
$250 to complete the course, and diving is optional - we can analyse the gas mix and you stay shoreside OR you can join us and standard dive rates apply.
What does the course involve?
You'll learn why diving with air that has higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content gives you more bottom time, along with enriched air equipment considerations. During a practical session, and two optional scuba dives, you'll:
- Discuss managing oxygen exposure.
- Practice analyzing oxygen content in your scuba tank.
- Set your dive computer for diving with enriched air nitrox.
What do I need to supply?
Please check the medical questionnaire. It is very important that you have no history of asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, heart or lung conditions, or chronic sinus/ear conditions. If you have any of these we will need to see a doctor’s certificate stating that you are fit to dive.
Prescription medication, surgery in the last 12 months, as well as a positive COVID-19 test, are recent additions - please make sure you are good to go on all of these - we hate disappointing people in the morning, 'cos we really want to get you diving!
Purchase the eLearning from us - $250 - or pop online and grab it directly from PADI.

When do you run the courses?
We run these courses on demand, and often you can add this on to an Open Water of an Advanced Course for an extra $250. Ask us how!
