Open Water Course

The PADI Open Water course is the first level scuba certification. The Open Water Course combines 8–10 hours of e-learning study at home with practical training in a saltwater pool and four open water dives over the final two days at the Poor Knights Islands.

Details

This program will prepare you to dive independently as a certified diver. You will complete 8-10 hours of eLearning at home before starting, learn fundamental scuba skills in a low-stress pool environment, then apply those skills on your four open water dives to a maximum of 18 metres before receiving an electronic PADI certification eCard. Complete the PADI eLearning and download the PADI App before arrival. Pool training takes place on site, open water dives occur at the Poor Knights Islands.

Please note that you will be required to complete a 200m swim and a 10 minute survival float in order to complete this course. You should have basic in water skills before completeing this course to insure you are comfortable and safe.

What should I bring

Swimwear, towel, sunscreen, warm clothing or a jacket, motion sickness medication if needed, your own dive gear or wetsuit if preferred, reusable water bottle
