Tutukaka is 25 minutes drive from Whangarei, Northland’s largest city.

A pleasant cruise to the North-East coast takes you through the scenic stone-walled Glenbervie countryside, past historic seaside Ngunguru and over the hill to the beautiful deep-water harbour and Tutukaka Marina.

Just past Tutukaka are the stunning white sandy beaches of Matapouri, Whale Bay and Woolleys and the famous surf beach, Sandy Bay.

Dive! Tutukaka is in the heart of Tutukaka, at 3-5 Rona Place, and at the front of a beautiful private valley, opposite all our boats in the Marina.

Travel and transport options

Several bus companies travel daily to Whangarei. We can take you out to the Poor Knights Islands for the day, and get you back in time for the evening bus back to Auckland, or further north to Paihia. Just let us know if you need to be back for a specific time so we can try and make sure you make your connection. Transport options

The drive time from Auckland is 2.5 hours, and from Paihia is 1.15 hours.

Whangarei Airport is in Onerahi about 40 mins drive from us.

A number of buses arrive in Whangarei each day, we can help you get to a connecting bus after your dive day. Check the timetables for Intercity buses and you can contact Chris, who drives the Coastal Commuter, and can take you directly to us!
