
Advanced Open Water Course
From $750 + eLearningDo you wish to enhance your dive skills and get more in depth knowledge about scuba diving? The PADI Advanced Open Water Course will help you with that in just 5 dives over 2 days, and a little bit of eLearning study.

Advance your diving skills with this course, which introduces you to a wide range of adventure dives.
You will need to complete the PADI eLearning at home and download the PADI App, prior to the course. The $300 PADI eLearning fee can be purchased through our booking page, or directly from PADI.
Over two consecutive days you complete five open-water dives — two required dives (deep and navigation) plus three elective dives chosen by you and your instructor.
The course run from our boats at the Poor Knights Islands.
Required Dives
- Deep - Dive to a maximum of 30 metres and find out what nitrogen narcosis is - will you experience it?
- Navigation - Fine-tune and improve navigation skills with compass use and natural navigation tips.
Most popular elective dives
- Peak Performance Buoyancy - Perfect your hover and your control of buoyancy, so you can keep yourself safe as well as the natural environment
- Naturalist - Learn to identify different marine plant and animal species.
- Fish ID - Know how to identify features of different fish species and how to tell them apart
- Search and Recovery - Learn search patterns and techniques to aid in the recovery of that lost mask overboard!
- Photography - Learn about care and preparation, as well as tips on lighting, positioning, backscatter, and composure.
- Boat - Bow, stern, aft, and port, boat diving is very different to shore diving. This elective gives you a heads-up on the nautical way of diving.

- Add Enriched Air (Nitrox) Course for NZ$300: Upgrade your training to include the Nitrox Specialty. Complete the short online theory ahead of time alongside your Advanced Open Water eLearning.

What should I bring?
