Settled in the valley behind Schnappa Rock in the heart of Tutukaka, Dive! Tutukaka's cave type building has become something of a draw card and an icon in the Marina, and the two businesses work together symbiotically, creating a funky institution that has been termed the “centre of the Tutukaka Universe.”
Dive! Tutukaka salvaged the old Tutukaka Marina piles, and wooden boardwalks, and have up-cycled them into an ultra-modern training centre called Shed 7. Complete with a 3-metre deep dive pool and windows – Yep – you can see people diving –and a groovy courtyard made of up-cycled bricks.
Native plants are everywhere, and a sauna is a nice touch for that après dive scene. Even the original Tutukaka Harbour channel markers are put to good use.
The rest of the valley has an interesting amount of space, and is a unique little suntrap. Some old stories say that in this valley, the Maori wakas were dragged up and stored in the native bush in between fishing trips. What is for certain, is that there is plenty of good energy in the valley, and even a bubbling fresh water spring.
With free-diving courses, photography sessions, and PADI dive training befitting the Five Star Instructor Development Centre, utilising the sun-drenched area surrounding the pool, the landscaped patio and brick area, and the savvy high tech fit out of the training facility.
With a commercially graded kitchen and an events space, we have created an innate laid back coastal rustic theme.
Perfect for an intimate 60 seated wedding reception - with use of the internal Shed7 space in the event of inclement weather - and in the summer months 80 seated outside, and between 150-200 in a standup outdoors capacity.
