Northern Scorpionfish, Matuawhapuku in Maori and in Latin, Scorpaena cardinalis.
SIZE: 60cm
HABITAT: Reefs, archways and caves.
DIET: Small fish.
BEHAVIOUR: Expert at camouflage, they lay motionless, ready to pounce and swallow whole, any small fish that swims too close.
