New Zealand’s most established Independent Travel Review website has over 20,000 reviews from NZ holiday makers and overseas visitors who have gone online, and ranked their favourite place or adventure, and gone on to explain why.

The Rankers TravellerVoted Awards reflect the voice of the people who have recently travelled New Zealand, and are judged by the most important critics - the customer.

They are taken from over 10,000 votes and from 4000 operators, from the very bottom of New Zealand to the very top.

Only three Northland tourism operators made the grade; Dive! Tutukaka topped the poll, with The Rock Overnight Cruise, second and Tallship R Tucker Thomson third.

Dive! Tutukaka have won a pretty impressive cache of awards in the past, from local to national to international, they are no stranger to taking the podium. But this award is different – it comes from the people.

“We are especially proud of the ranking, as this means that our guests really enjoy their time with us – which is great because we enjoy our time with them. Having a good time, being honest, and sharing our passion is the key. Nick Morrison, co-founder of the innovative website Rankers.co.nz, says “these awards come from the voice of the people. “ He and business partner Cymen Crick saw a need for honest, independent travel info – by the traveler for the traveler. Their website was started in three years ago in 2007 and reflects the growing trend in social media and the strength of advocacy.

A recent TripAdvisor survey says 68 per cent of travelers thought other travelers’ recommendations were more credible than that of a national tourism body; even if they didn’t know the other travelers.
