The only Northland finalist in a field dominated by South Islanders, Dive! Tutukaka won the Qualmark “Tourism Mark of Quality” Award at the annual New Zealand Tourism Awards held in a glittering gala dinner on the 21st September in Auckland.
Ngunguru Primary School has added diving to the curriculum for Year Seven and Eight students with a course offered in conjunction with Dive! Tutukaka that gives the students a Snorkelling and Recognition of Skin Diver Skills Certificate.
Fifty scuba divers from Dive! Tutukaka armed with ironing boards, irons, and something to iron, descended to 29 metres to rise to an Australian challenge to break the world record for most people “Underwater Extreme Ironing”.
Dive! Tutukaka is the first and only dive centre in New Zealand to be awarded the status of National Geographic Dive Centre.
PADI Member Awards Outstanding Dive Centre Business Award 2005
Announced on 2nd April 2005 in Bangkok, at the prestigious APEX award ceremony, Dive! Tutukaka has been recognised as the most Outstanding Dive Centre in their region, South East Asia Pacific.
Dive! Tutukaka is the first dive company to achieve an Endorsed Qualmark Rating, and were integral in writing the blueprint for "best industry practice" criteria involved in this NZ tourism quality audit.
2004
An international Maritime Organisation ruling banning large ships from going near the Poor Knights has been welcomed by divers and conservationists alike.
Dive! Tutukaka is pleased to annnounce that they have been awarded Gold Palm Instructor Development Centre status. This means we can train from Open Water, right through to Open Water Scuba Instructor level, and beyond.
