Andrew and Rebecca Brown talk about thier NZ travels in their blog...
Tutukaka, a couple of hours drive North of Auckland, is where we caught our dive boat, Calypso, to the Poor Knights Islands.
Two German tourists have been shown a nicer side to Whangarei, after their van and belongings were stolen. The Poor Knights Islands certainly were a highlight, and the warmth of the people on the Tutukaka Coast made a difference with the genuine response showing Northland's real manaakitanga (hospitality and respect).
"It's a mix of hospitality and karma. If my daughter was in trouble somewhere I'd like to know someone was looking after her."
Jesse Negus, 18, has received the Queen's Guide Award, New Zealand's highest award for girls, and we are very proud of her!!
This year has to go down as being known for the number of cetacean sightings. Almost daily we are seeing dolphins, whales, and more!
A selection of some pretty awesome shots, great colours, and fantastic perspectives of our world here at the Poor Knights. Many thanks to all who have contributed!

Weather report for Saturday and Sunday the 23rd and 24th of January
Aaron came out diving with us for a couple of days, and sent us this footage from a different perspective. He said his dive was a defining moment, an almost religious experience. I like it!
Tarly is only two and a half weeks short of completing a full year of travel since her release off the coast of New Zealand. In that time she has covered a distance of 9246kms and is still heading in a generally Easterly direction towards South America with a slight inflection towards the North.
